Mystery Bus Trip
1998 POEM
Judy Scherrer
Bright and early Saturday dawns
We board the bus stifling yawns.
And yet excited about our Mystery Trip
We tell the drivers to let 'er rip!
We chow down at the Country Buffet
Now anxious to be on our way.
Telling great jokes has become our style
And Phil's piano made it worthwhile.
Our stay in Clinton was the best
Whatever we wanted, Barbara said yes.
We went to the quilt shop and the beautiful river
Saw the rainbow barn twice and backed up in a tither.
We danced in Davenport and Dubuque through the locks
Janine liked Doug's bikini with yellow dots.
Earl and Miriam stood in the Memory Box
And we will remember this trip was the tops!
